This past weekend Champs International Skating Centre and the Scotia Barn arena were host to the 2021 Skate Canada BC/YK Sectionals Super Series Championships that was held in accordance with COVID-19 protocols in place.
Thanks to Ted Barton, the BC Section, and Scotia Barn for creating a safe way for our athletes to compete; physical distancing was enforced at all times, masks were made mandatory when not skating on ice, and detailed time sheets with entry and exit times were created for all groups to ensure capacity was not exceeded. The event was incredibly successful with major thanks to Ted Barton, the BC Section, Scotia Barn, and Champs International Skating Centre who all worked together to make it happen and pave the way for future competitions to continue during this COVID-19 pandemic.
Our Champs athletes were amazing and resilient under these circumstances and there were some great performances that led to Champs winning the BC Team Trophy!
Thanks to our Champs coaches for all of their hard work!
